I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix - i! ~4 o \( A4 a) @$ G" v; I# t3 P a$ P- b9 Y7 x; Z( a( U
